Volunteer

Join the CCLCF family as a volunteer!

Without the help and support of our volunteers, the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge would not be what it is today. Largely built by Volunteers back in 1949, CCLCF has always been a place where community members are encouraged to get involved. Our volunteers help us fulfill our mission to enhance the well-being of the community by bringing people of all ages together for enrichment, recreation, and social programs.

Each year, over 150 volunteers donate their time to the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge and we are very grateful for every one of them. Collectively, our volunteers log more than 2,500 hours each year as they gain experience and help enrich the lives of the communities that we serve.

Teen Apprenticeship Program

Our Teen Apprenticeship Program pairs students with seasoned teaching professionals in fields ranging from sports and arts to STEM and special interest. Over 8-12 weeks, apprentices work alongside these experts, gaining firsthand experience in teaching youth while also developing a range of skills including leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities. This program, generously funded by a grant from the City of La Cañada Flintridge, aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application.

Prospective apprentices are encouraged to apply if they meet the following criteria: at least 16 years of age, are currently enrolled in school, and have reliable transportation to CCLCF. The commitment is 2-3 hours per week, and while the initial positions are voluntary, there is potential for paid opportunities upon successful completion of the program.

Contractors participating in the program will benefit from additional support in their classes, workshops, or activities, with the added advantage of shaping the professionals of tomorrow.

For more information about the Teen Apprenticeship Program, including how to apply or become a participating contractor, please contact Sarah Rodriguez via email at sarah@cclcf.org
