Arts classes include ballroom dancing, improv, hip hop, watercolor painting, music and more! Classes vary by session.

CREATIVE ARTS for Adults

Ceramics

In addition to our Introduction to Ceramics and Intermediate Wheel Throwing classes we offer an independent study format, where the instructor is available to help students create their own work.

Mixed Media

This visual art form combines different materials into one piece. Each work uses at least two art media; for example, using pen with ink and watercolor, enhanced with some collage pieces.

Glass Blowing

This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to create stunning, personalized glass beads. Learn about the tools, safety measures, and various techniques that will empower you to craft your own works of art.

Jewelry Making

This hands-on workshop is designed for both beginners and enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to craft stunning jewelry pieces. You’ll learn essential techniques such as wire wrapping, beading, and metal stamping.

Wonders of Watercolor

We’ll practice the basics and stretch ourselves as we work on a variety of skills and techniques to create unique interpretations of subjects found in still life, photographs, or our own imaginations.

CREATIVE ARTS for Youth

Ceramics for Teens

Explore your creative side and learn how to work clay with your hands! Using pinch, coil, slab, and wheel throwing techniques, students will learn how to create pots and small sculptures as well as learn how to paint with slips and use Cone 10 glazes. 

Crayola World of Design

Students take a journey to the farthest reaches of the imagination while learning about the ocean, the rainforest, Mars, a futuristic city, and much more! We use the design thinking process to solve real-world problems in these different environments.

Jr. Ceramics

Inspire your child’s imagination with hands-on ceramic classes! Art teaches children that there are multiple approaches to solving problem through a tactile and creative experience. Our Junior Ceramics program includes a wide variety of clay techniques including slab, coil, and basic hand building.

Music & Messy Art

Enjoy fun, messy art projects while being introduced to the world of music. Explore different tools and materials, such as paint, clay, playdough and more! Children are encouraged to explore the material freely. Class will include music and movement break.

Preschool Ceramics

Our “Fun with Clay” class is an afterschool program for our Community Center Preschool students. Students use pinch, coil, and slab methods to create pots and small sculptures. Instructors will guide our preschoolers through multiple project ideas from start to finish.

DANCE for Adults

Belly Dance

Enjoy the exquisite music, feel confident and beautiful in a supportive environment while you learn the Ancient Dance of the Feminine. Belly Dance teaches grace, strength, balance, and coordination through hip movements and muscle isolations.

Ballroom Dance

In this class, students will learn the basic and intermediate patterns and characters of the most popular ballroom dances, as well as how to recognize the music. They will learn the basics of leading, following, and develop timing and rhythm.

Ballroom Line Dancing

It’s line dancing with a twist. Students will learn the basic steps of many ballroom dances (e.g. Foxtrot, Cha Cha, etc.) in a line dance format. Students will also learn the most popular line dances such as “New York New York,” “Mambo #5,” “Electric Slide,” and others.

Hula Dance

Get ready for an exciting and fun-filled experience learning a true Polynesian dance art that has been passed on from generation to generation. Students will be introduced to the various dances and culture of the Pacific isles with emphasis on the basics in Hawaiian hula.

Silver Swans Ballet

Develop coordination, strength, and joint flexibility while enjoying music, learning ballet vocabulary, and building community. Participants are guided through a series of stretches, movements, and exercises which can be done standing or in a chair.

DANCE for Youth

Tiny Tot Tap & Ballet

Each week we will rotate shoes giving dancers an opportunity to explore rhythm & movement in both styles of dance. Students will begin to build a solid dance foundation by learning proper dance terminology in fun & creative ways.

Tiny Tot Hip Hop

Time for your little one to jump, crawl, pop it, lock it & fully emerge into a great aerobic activity! Students will build confidence & endurance while being lead through strength & flexibility exercises prior to busting some big & impressive moves on the dance floor.

Kinder & TK Tap & Ballet

The perfect class for children “in between” ages and abilities! This class begins in tap shoes as we build our rhythm skills while being introduced to more advanced steps before we transition to ballet, and continue to fine tune and build upon our dance foundation.

Hip Hop & Tricks

Ready to get your groove on? Hip Hop and Tricks is an aerobic, confidence-building dance class. Students will explore rhythm and coordination through freestyle and choreographed routines to their favorite songs. Beginners welcomed.

MUSIC for Adults

Guitar for Beginners

Learn to play guitar in a fun, laid-back setting! Perfect for complete beginners, this class focuses on songs with open chord changes and several important scales to practice both single-notes and strumming.

Opera Music & Stories

Enjoy a lovely lunch while you listen to a group of professional opera singers! Music intertwines with captivating stories to create an unforgettable experience.

Learn the basics of the ukulele! In this fun and engaging class, students will learn the anatomy of the ukulele, how to tune the strings, chords, and strumming patterns! Students will begin learning songs on the first day.

MUSIC for Youth

Group Guitar for Beginners

This class is perfect for young students who want to have fun learning guitar in a warm and supportive group environment. No experience necessary. Teacher will present new concepts, then lead group practice and check in on students individually. Class will begin by covering the basics: learning the names of the strings, how to strum, and how to fret notes while creating a clear sound.

Group Piano for Beginners

Students will start off by learning finger numbers, the musical alphabet, black key groupings, middle C 5-finger pattern, navigating the keyboard, and simple songs. By the end of the session, students will have learn basic rhythms such as quarter and half notes, the C major scale, the music staff, line notes, and space notes.

Group Ukulele for Beginners

Learn the basics of the ukulele! In this fun and engaging class, students will learn the anatomy of the ukulele, how to tune the strings, chords, and strumming patterns! Students will begin learning songs on the first day. Classes will include games to solidify musical knowledge and maintain a fun atmosphere.

PERFORMING ARTS

Adult Acting / Improv Class

Explore the simple fundamentals of acting through a series of exercises designed to strengthen one’s ability to listen, emote, concentrate, imagine, and tap into one’s inner sense of spontaneity. Be able to adapt to direction and learn audition techniques to tap into your most authentic performance.

Improvisation for Kids

Learn how to be confident and able to make strong, fast choices. Enjoy a positive, laughter-filled environment where ideas are celebrated and explored! Learn how to create stories, characters, and surprises. Improv training increases teamwork, listening, communication, creative problem solving skills.
 

Improvisation for Teens

Improv decreases social anxiety while heightening self-esteem. Brace yourself for a laughter-filled environment where your ideas are celebrated to create epic comedy as a team. Together, we’ll master the art of crafting stories, inventing characters, and delivering surprise after surprise.
