About Us

Our History

The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge (CCLCF) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1948, located at the base of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains. Originally known as the La Cañada Youth House and built entirely by volunteers in 1951, it has served the needs of thousands of children and adults over the last 75+ years. In 1998 La Cañada Youth House’s name was change to the Roger Barkley Community Center, and then it finally became the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge in 2007. Today, CCLCF offers a variety of enriching, recreational and educational opportunities for preschoolers to seniors, and everyone in between.

The Community Center is funded by grants, donations, rentals, class fees, and fundraisers. CCLCF fundraisers include wildly popular ceramic sales in May and December and the Thanksgiving 5K Run and Food Drive, now in its fourth decade.

Financial Aid

We welcome all who wish to participate in our classes, camps and workshops. Through our Financial Assistance Program, we provide scholarships to youth, adults, seniors and families based on individual needs and circumstances. Partial scholarships are available to assist with the cost of CCLCF classes, camps and workshops.
Those facing economic hardship will be accommodated as resources are available. Financial assistance is available based on family income, number of household members, and the availability of CCLCF scholarship funds. Those requesting support are asked to provide documentation of financial need. All personal and financial information submitted to CCLCF for the purpose of accommodating fees is kept strictly confidential.
