About the 5K and Kid’s Mile

The Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Mile Run has been a local tradition and a community favorite for over two decades. It is also our biggest fundraiser of the year and we are thrilled to come back strong. This year we will see you at the starting line at La Cañada’s Memorial Park!

The Kid’s Mile is for children 12 and under.

The Adult 5K Run/Walk: Warmup begins at 8 AM.

The Kid’s Mile: Warmup begins at 9 AM.

 

About the Route

The route our Thanksgiving Day Run: 5K and Kid’s Mile will take is as pictured, beginning at Memorial Park in La Cañada, down Foothill Blvd, and turning around near the Big Lots.

Bib Pick-Up 

We offer Swag  Bag/Bib Pick-Up the week of the Run.

This is for all registered participants to pick up their t-shirts, race bibs, and other goodies.

You will also be able to drop off non-perishable food items to be distributed to those in need this holiday season by the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Department.

How to register:
  1. Visit our registration portal HERE.
  2. Select your desired race.
  3. Fill in all fields, including shirt size.
  4. Submit payment info.
  5. Run your race!
About the Food Drive

In partnership with Nasa Services, CCLCF invites you to donate non-perishable food items for the Thanksgiving Day Food Drive. 

Drop-off bins will be located at the Community Center. Your donations will be distributed to those in need this holiday season by the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Department. Together we can make a difference in our communities!

Food Drive table

What can you donate? Canned food, pasta, water, cereal, baby formula, juice boxes, granola bars, rice, grocery store gift cards, and other non-perishable foods. Please no glass.

Where can you donate? Nasa Drop-Bins will be located at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge and select businesses throughout the area including:

Last year, we had drop-bins at Gelsons Market, Sprouts, Bob Smith Toyota, La Cañada Congregational Church, Crescenta Canada Pet Hospital, CalTech Federal Credit Union, Allen Lund, Citizens Business Bank,
and multiple schools around La Cañada Flintridge.

CCLCF is looking for volunteers for its 30th Annual Thanksgiving Day Run and Food Drive: 5K and Kid’s Mile. If you or someone you know is interested and is 16 or older, please fill out our Volunteer Application.

Your donation will go directly to supporting our Food Drive in collaboration with the Crescenta Valley Sheriffs Department bringing much needed food and supplies to families in our region experiencing food insecurity this Holiday season. 

We are a 501(3)(c) Nonprofit that enhances the well-being of the community by bringing people of all ages together for enrichment, recreation and social programs for over 70 years.
